Six Flags Over Texas is a major theme park located in Arlington, TX, just east of Fort Worth. It was the very first Six Flags park to ever open, in 1961. Its 49th year is opening up for the 2010 season, during which we can expect a lot of great rides and features. It has always performed well in revenue, and has won many industry awards, including the Best Wooden Roller Coaster in the World in 1999 for the Texas Giant.
There are Six Flags Over Texas discount tickets available now on the web. If you buy the seasonal pass and join the Funatics club, you will receive awards and freebies after every single visit. If you are going to be visiting a lot this season, then you may want to consider VIP passes, so that you can get your own personal tour guide and VIP treatment!
With Six Flags Over Texas discounts, you will be able to afford to go on more rides, watch more shows, and shop. The park will be opening March 6 this year, and a whole lot of fun is planned for this season. This month, there will be the "Ridiculously Long Lasting Scream Contest" and a concert with One Republic and last year's American Idol winner, Kris Allen! On March 26, there will be a special graduation party for 2010 seniors.
If you are looking forward to carosel rides, then there are plenty of thrilling rides to choose from, including Batman: The Ride, Mr. Freeze, Texas Giant, Dive Bomber Alley, Titan, and Superman: Tower of Power. Runaway Mountain is definitely a fun ride that you should check out. It's not the most thrilling, but it's still very fun.
The Runaway Mountain is an enclosed coaster that takes place inside in the dark! With no lights, you will have no sense of direction. Located in the Old South section of the park, this ride is a tall mountain of nearly 7 stories. You will zoom through winding caves in the pitch dark! This human gyro ride is for adults and kids over 48".
For smaller kids, there is still plenty to do, especially at Looney Tunes USA and Goodtimes Square. They can go on fun pony carousel rides, meet their favorite Looney Tunes characters, go on bus rides, balloon rides, boat adventures, and more. Six Flags Over Texas discount tickets are available for kids, so you should be able to afford to take your entire family to the park!
