The Mama Bear's Guide to Amusement Park Rides Safety

Is there anything more fun for children than outdoor rides in the summer time? Kids don't seem to think so! As a Mama Bear you want to protect your little cubs as they enjoy a summer of fun at amusement parks; and rightfully so, of course. When you're getting ready to pack up the family and head to an amusement park, keep this helpful guide in mind to ensure a fun, unforgettable, and (most of all) safe trip just as the modern times ride and tea cup amusement rides.

Don't forget the sunscreen, especially when enjoying outdoor rides

As you're preparing a pack of wriggly little children who are squirming and itching to get on those fun rides, it can be easy to forget something important like sun protection. During those warm summer months, though, be sure to shield your kid's skin from the sun with sunscreen, sunglasses, or hats so that they go home with only good memories and no sunburns.

Designate a meeting spot in case you get separated

When you first get to the amusement park, be sure that your family is aware of a designated meeting spot to reconvene in case any of the little cubs get separated from the pack while they're out having a blast.

For kids that are slightly older and want to have a little fun while innocently roaming the park without the "lame" adults watching over them like they're babies, define check-in times to meet at the designated spot so you can make sure everyone is accounted for throughout the day.

Make sure to point out what a park guide looks like to your child

Amidst the outdoor rides, playing children, and lights and music, it can be easy for a kid to get separated from the group. Nothing is more frightening to a small kid than being lost in a sea of strangers, so you'll want to make sure you point out amusement park guards to your kid so they know who to ask for help in the event they become lost.

Keep the kids hydrated

After riding on outdoor rides, you'll want to make sure you keep the kiddies hydrated. Most amusement parks don't allow outside food or drinks (and it's always a good idea to follow the rules), so be sure to grab a nice water bottle once you're inside the park so the kids can sip water throughout their special day of fun.

Go over the park rules with the kiddos

Every good mama bear knows that the best kind of fun is safe fun. Be sure you go over the park's safety rules with the kids before entering. If any of the outdoor rides have a height limit, be sure your kids know whether they can or can't ride before waiting in a line. Nothing is more crushing than being turned away from a ride after waiting in line for (what it seems like to a child) a million hours.
